Educating physicians and other healthcare professionals with the most cutting-edge information available related to hemostasis management.
While the module has been designed for a broad base of compatibility with many browsers, Microsoft Internet Explorer is recommended for the best experience. Windows XP users already have Internet Explorer 6; all other Windows users can get version 6 for free by visiting Windows Update. Mac users may also download and install Internet Explorer by visiting Microsoft's website here.

Above is a screen shot of what the Conference.CAST module will basically look like on your computer. Some elements may look slightly different depending on your operating system (Windows or Macintosh), your Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL), and your version of Windows Media Player/Real Player.
The "slide show" area is where the slides or video will be displayed as the presentation is being given. The slides are synchronized to the presentation audio, resulting in a complete recreation of the presentation as originally delivered live.
The lecture will automatically start upon launching the module. If you become disconnected for any reason, click on the triangle to restart the presentation.
Status Bar: Stay informed about the running time of the lecture and the quality of your connection.
Stop Button: Click the square to stop the presentation.
Use these buttons to switch between the two function panels in the module:
Presenter Info : Here, you can view a photograph of the speaker, as well as browse the speaker's biography by clicking on the Biography button.
Slide Index: View thumbnails and full-size images of the presentation Powerpoint slides. You may click on any thumbnail to jump to specific parts of a presentation.

In order to listen to this Conference.Cast presentation, you must have either Windows Media Player or RealPlayer installed on your computer. Either software will allow you to hear the audio over the Internet as long as you have at least a 56Kbps modem. You can download either player for free by clicking on one of the links below:
Make sure that you have either Windows Media Player or RealPlayer installed on your computer by using the System Check Utility. You can click on the appropriate button above
While it is recommended, it is not required to have Windows Media Player 9. Older versions of the player will automatically download and install a tiny update to allow it to view Windows Media 9 presentations. However, you must be logged in to your computer with an account that has administrative privileges on that computer. Check with your network administrator to determine whether you have administrative rights, and if not, allow the administrator to log in with his or her account and connect to the presentation.
Newer content may use video to deliver the presentations; these presentations require a broadband connection to access. If you are using a dial-up connection, or your broadband connection is slowed down by network traffic, the video portion will drop out, and you will hear only audio.
Verify that your speakers are firmly connected to your computer and turned on, and your volume is turned up.
Recent updates to Windows Media Player 9 and 10 from Microsoft include security measures designed to prevent malicious script from being executed on your computer; this behavior can sometimes interfere with the lecture module. To correct this, open up Windows Media Player and go to Tools -> Options -> Security tab. Check the box which reads "Run script commands when present". You may need to close and re-open the lecture module for these changes to take effect.
In addition, you may need to add the HemostasisCME.org site to your Trusted Sites list. This is done by going to Tools -> Internet Options (for Internet Explorer), and selecting the Security tab. Click on the Trusted Sites icon (the green checkmark) and then click the "Sites..." button. In the box labeled "Add this Web site to the zone", put in "http://www.hemostasiscme.org", then click Add. Leave the "Require server verification" checkbox unchecked. Click OK.
For non-IE browsers, please consult the browser's documentation for instructions on adding websites to the trusted list.
