Educating physicians and other healthcare professionals with the most cutting-edge information available related to hemostasis management.
The high mortality associated with acquired inhibitors, such as with acquired hemophilia, may be partly related to the delay in recognition and timely treatment of this abnormality. Because the causes of unexpected bleeding in unchallenged patients are numerous, hematologists should be familiar with the laboratory assays and interpretation of their results to distinguish among the different diagnoses and to recommend treatment options.
